Safeguarding at the Federation

The Welbeck Federation of Schools recognises its statutory responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children and to protect them from harm.

Our ethos is that effective safeguarding can only be achieved by placing children at the centre of everything we do. We are committed to creating a culture where children feel safe, valued, listened to, and respected. Every adult within our Federation has a responsibility to safeguard children and to work collaboratively with families and partner agencies to meet the needs of our most vulnerable pupils and keep them safe.

Through strong leadership and a shared commitment to safeguarding, the Federation strives to provide a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment in which all children can learn, thrive and achieve. We promote a vigilant safeguarding culture and ensure that concerns about a child’s welfare are identified, reported and acted upon promptly. Where concerns arise, we will take appropriate action to support children and protect those who may be suffering, or are at risk of suffering, significant harm.

Any member of staff, volunteer, governor, parent or visitor who has a safeguarding concern is encouraged to report it immediately to the Headteacher/Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or Deputy DSL. Whilst concerns can be raised directly with Children’s Social Care or other safeguarding agencies, the Federation would normally advocate consulting with a DSL or Headteacher at the earliest opportunity.

During school holidays and other periods when the school is closed, safeguarding concerns can be reported via the Federation's dedicated safeguarding email address: safeguarding@thewelbeckfederation.org.uk
