The Welbeck Curriculum

At The Welbeck Federation of Schools, we are committed to ensuring every child develops the knowledge, confidence and aspiration to succeed, while fostering a genuine love of learning. We believe that children learn best when they are happy, engaged and inspired, and we place great importance on creating a curriculum that is both enjoyable and meaningful.

Our core values underpin all aspects of school life:

Be Kind – Be Responsible – Work Hard – Take Pride

Every day, we strive to create a nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued and inspired to learn. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to succeed, and we champion them to develop into the best version of themselves, ready to contribute positively to their community and the wider world.

Our curriculum is carefully designed to be knowledge-rich, inclusive and ambitious, reflecting both the needs of our pupils and the context of our community. It builds strong foundations from Early Years through to Year 6, enabling children to develop resilience, independence and a strong sense of pride in their achievements.

At The Welbeck Federation, we help every child REACH their potential through the following principles:

R – Rich Communication

Developing articulate, confident learners who can express their ideas clearly and effectively through a strong foundation of oracy and vocabulary.

E – Engaging Experiences

Providing meaningful opportunities that capture interest, broaden horizons and make learning memorable and enjoyable.

A – Aspiration

Raising expectations and broadening futures, ensuring all pupils are prepared for the next stage of their education and beyond.

C – Curiosity

Nurturing inquisitive learners who ask questions, think deeply and develop a lifelong love of learning.

H – High-quality Knowledge

Building deep, connected knowledge over time through a carefully sequenced and coherent curriculum.

These principles ensure that all pupils are equipped not only with essential knowledge, but also with the character, confidence and enthusiasm to thrive.
