Our teachers are Mrs Patrick (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) and

Mrs Parkin (Thursday and Friday).

Read your reading book - don't forget to ask your parent/carer to sign the reading diary to add to your reading miles.

Please practise your spellings for the spelling test 

Year 1 words 

Maths

Year 1 - Practise counting, reading and writing numbers between 20 and 50.

You could go for a walk in the snow and look for numbers between 20 and 50 on the houses.

What is the greatest number on your road?

Practise identifying whether a number is odd or even.

You could go for a walk in the snow and look at the house numbers.

Reading

Please make sure your child brings their book bag every day.

On a Wednesday your child will receive a decodable book at their reading level which we would like them to read with you each day. On a Friday your child will receive a guided reading book which we will have read all week in school and this is at a level appropriate for their age. Your child will also bring home a story book of their choosing for you to share together.

It is really important that you read with you child at home. Please sign the reading diary to show your child has read. 

PE

PE days are Tuesday and Wednesday

PE kit is a white t-shirt, black shorts, joggers or leggings and black plimsolls.

We are now getting changed into our PE kit at school so you will need to bring your kit in a bag. You can leave your PE bag on your peg for the week.

Earrings must be taken out, no tape!

Please ensure ALL school clothes and PE kit is named.

This half term we will be learning about animals including humans, weather and the seasons, technology around us, our local area and who cares for me.
